The Mandarin Muse was founded by mother-daughter duo Evamaria Mayer and Su Ningxia Mayer, blending creative strategy with deep cultural understanding.
Together, they bring decades of experience, a shared passion for storytelling, and a commitment to building bridges between China and Europe.
Evamaria Mayer
Founder & Creative Director
Born in Vienna and raised in Hong Kong, Evamaria Mayer has lived her entire life at the intersection of East and West. A trilingual cultural strategist with a background in journalism, branding, and media communications, she built a career as an international storyteller, working as an award-winning TV presenter and creative consultant.
Her work at China Global Television Network (CGTN), and later her recognition by China Central Television (CCTV), where she was named Best TV Presenter for Entertainment Programming in 2021, shaped her signature voice: warm, insightful, and globally attuned. As the creative force behind the travel docuseries Travelogue, and through her appearance at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, she became a trusted cultural storyteller to audiences of over a billion.
Today, Evamaria leads The Mandarin Muse as a natural extension of her journey: a creative agency dedicated to shaping tomorrow’s stories between China and Europe.
Su Ningxia Mayer
Co-Founder & Cultural Advisor
Born in Nanjing and based in Vienna for over three decades, Su Ningxia Mayer has long been a cultural connector in the field of Sino-Austrian trade and diplomacy. She worked alongside her husband, Dr. Alfred Mayer, a respected trade commissioner and diplomat whose legacy continues to inspire The Mandarin Muse.
From supporting hospital projects with VAMED and HNA Group to leading the Vienna office of Baota Petrochemical Group and coordinating high-level business delegations, Ningxia brings unmatched cross-cultural insight and trusted relationships.
Today, she guides The Mandarin Muse with her diplomatic finesse, helping shape a new chapter of meaningful collaboration between China and Europe.
